Privacy Statement
2024
Your personal details are not a commodity to be bought and sold, and there are laws laying down what information we can request from you and what we can do with it. This statement provides clear, transparent details about how we store and use this information, and what we do to maintain your privacy.
Legal responsibility
Leolux Furniture Group (LFG) is domiciled in Venlo in the Netherlands. Our products are designed here and made in our own factories in Europe. All the furniture brands we make comply with the laws of the country to which they are supplied.
This also applies to the ways in which we protect your privacy. Our information, purchasing and aftersales processes comply with European legislation on the collection, storage and sharing of personal data, and specifically the general data protection regulation (GDPR).
If you have any questions, please contact our GDPR officer.

Your privacy is guaranteed
We are pleased that you are interested in our products and we trust that you will find all information you require for making the right decision on our website. In doing so, we comply strictly with the European regulations, more specifically the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Rights and security
You are entitled to inspect, rectify or remove personal data we received from you. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data (or any part of it) by us or any of our processors. You have the right to request that we transfer the data provided to you to yourself or directly to another party on your behalf. We may ask you to identify yourself before we can comply.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unlawful processing:
- All persons who able to take note of your data on behalf of LFG are obliged to keep them secret.
- We apply a username and password policy on all of our systems;
- We create back-ups of the personal data in order to be able to restore them in case of physical or technical incidents;
- We test and evaluate our measures on a regular basis;
- Our employees have been informed of the importance of protecting personal data.
Requesting and retaining data
At various points on our website and at other points in the information and purchase process, you share your data with us. However, we only collect the data that is minimally necessary for the purpose agreed between us.
LFG only stores your data if you expressly agree to this. For example, if we are allowed to send you a periodic newsletter or if you register as a buyer in the CRM database. Your data will then only be stored for this specific purpose. You can also revoke your consent at any time. LFG will then ensure that your data is removed from the database.
Third parties
LFG does not share personal data with third parties unless this information is essential for parties such as post/dispatch companies. This includes address and other information that is needed to send such things as yearbooks or webshop items. Such parties are bound by a data processing agreement in which it is stated that they must comply strictly with data protection legislation and can be held accountable by LFG.
We do not share personal data with parties based outside the EU. An exception is the party that powers LFG’s digital newsletters. This party is based in the US but operates in accordance with EU data protection legislation.
For business marketing communications (business to business) we use Mailchimp. We are looking for an suitable alternative because the way Mailchimp processes data does not meet the requirements of GDPR.
We also make an exception for the cooperation with the Leolux Select Stores. They apply as an extension of the Leolux provision of services and advice.
The data that are provided to LFG are only inspected by LFG. Websites that are hosted by external parties are expressly not authorised to use, store or apply the data for their own purposes.
The transfer of personal data to government institutions and authorities only takes place within the context of mandatory, national legislation.
Cookies
You can visit our web-pages without telling us who you are. You remain anonymous, therefore.
Because we want to optimise our information provision and the website’s functioning, visits to the website are analysed (anonymously). We use cookies for this. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your computer, you can refuse them. The website will still give you all the information available. You can delete stored cookies at any time via your browser’s system settings.
What are cookies?
They are small, harmless text files that websites send to your computer and which are then stored by your browser. Upon every subsequent visit to the particular website, your browser sends the contents of the cookie back. This allows the website to store the data that correspond to your browser and your visit. This is how our website can remember your favourite models, for instance. We call this kind of cookies ‘technical cookies’.
Other cookies help us to recognise you as a unique visitor, analyse which pages of the website are visited frequently, measure the effectiveness of online advertising campaigns or be able to display certain advertisements based on your browsing history. The first two types are called ‘analytics cookies’ and the second two types ‘advertising cookies’.
All these cookies work anonymously. After all, we do not need to know who visits our website, but we would like to know how a visit to our website unfolds.
Which cookies does Leolux use?
Preference cookies allow a website to remember information that influences the behaviour and design of the website, such as your preferred language or region of residence.
Statistical cookies: These cookies allow LFG to analyse your visit to our website. Can you easily find what you are looking for? Or do you have to click a lot to find the right page? This information allows us to improve our website. A website that gives you the right information quickly is more customer-friendly. We do not track you personally, the cookies work completely anonymously.
Marketing cookies: LFG uses banners and other online advertising campaigns. Cookies can measure the effectiveness of these campaigns. When you visit a website where a banner from LFG appears, the party providing the banner places a cookie. On our website, we place a code that comes from the same party. When you open our website after seeing the banner, the previously received cookie is sent back to this party. This allows us to measure how effective a banner or other advertisement is.
So-called ‘re-targeting’ can also be used. For instance, you may have first viewed a page on the website. Re-targeting means that you are then shown a new advertisement for LFG later on. This makes it possible to tailor advertisements to the interests of visitors.
Forms
You can use the forms to apply for a catalogue, to book a tour or submit a service request, for example. In this connection, LFG only collects the data that are needed for the purpose we have indicated on the form.
Combining data
We ask for your address details in various forms; we only use these details to create a unique identification. The entered address details, combined with your surname and email address, ensure that you do not appear in our database twice. When you register for various services (such as registration as customer, newsletter, visit to Leolux, request our yearbook), we will combine your data. It is always possible to unsubscribe from the individual services.
Contact form
You can use this form to forward a query or comment to LFG. Your data will be retained for 1 year.
Request printed brochure/sample
Your data will be used once to send the relevant brochure/sample and not for other/future mailings. We only share these data with our distribution partners for the purpose of dispatch. Your data will be retained for 1 year.
You can indicate via an opt-in whether you wish to receive the newsletter. We will also send you several emails in connection with your catalogue request. It is always possible to unsubscribe from these services.
Subscribing to the newsletter
We will store the information you have entered (salutation, name, email address, address details and catalogue request) if you request a catalogue. These data are processed so that we are able to personalise our messages and provide you with the right information. You can unsubscribe permanently on receipt of any subsequent newsletter. We will then delete the data that we saved to send the newsletter.
Leolux Visitor Center
If you sign up online for a tour at Leolux, we ask you for the data we need to ensure your visit goes smoothly. For that, we only need the details of the person booking the tour. Other persons in the group are not registered. After your visit, we delete the stored data.
Registration as customer
LFG does not receive any customer data from its dealers. If you, the consumer, register a model on LFG website yourself, we can help you quickly if there are questions or problems. In that case, the product identification number will be linked to your contact details.
Request for Appointment Leolux Center
If you submit a request for this service, we provide your data via email to the Leolux Design Center of your choice. You will also receive a confirmation of your request for an appointment. The data are deleted immediately after the appointment is made.
